Our forces continued to advance July 30 west and south-west of PSKOV, seizing more than 100 settlements. Their list includes such large settlements as VIDOVICHI, LISICHKI, SENNO, IRBOSKA (IZBORSK), PETROVA, LYEPNA and BALVI, as well as the IRBOSKA, BEJA, VIKSNA and BALVI railroad stations.
Our forces continued to advance west of DAUGAVPILS, seizing more than 80
settlements. Their list includes VILCIANY, STELMUZE, VODMINCE, AVILIAI, DUSETOS
and KAVOLIAI, as well as the ILUKSTE railroad station.
Our forces continued to advance north-east and north of SIAULIAI (SHAVLI),
seizing the Lithuanian SSR district center and railroad station BIRJIAI, the
Latvian SSR district center and railroad station BAUSKA, as well as more than
300 other settlements, including such large settlements as SALOCIAI, ZEIMELIS,
VITEIKI, LIELVIRCAVA, ZALIAIMUIZA and VILCE, as well as the ZEIMELIS, PLATONE,
BRIEZU and GLUDA railroad stations.
Our forces launched an offensive from their bridgeheads along the western
bank of the NIEMEN river to the north and south of ALYTUS, breaching enemy
defenses along a 110-km front and advancing by 25 km. They seized more than 300
settlements, among them such large settlements as SLIANOVA, BOBIKLY, ISLAUZ,
PLUTISKI, ESIOTRAKI, IGLYUVKA, SAKALISKI, BALVERZISKI, RZECEVO, KRAKOPOL, SIMNO,
SEREE, VEISEE, KAZANY, GIBY and KOPTSOVO, as well as the PASHNYA and SIMNO
railroad stations.
Our forces seized BELSK, an important highway junction and major railroad
station, south of BIALYSTOK, as well as more than 60 other settlements,
including the large settlements RYBOLY, SREDINSKAYA, PLYUTICHI, RAISK and
AVGUSTOVO, as well as STRABLYA railroad station.
Our forces continued to advance west of BREST, seizing more than 200
settlements, including such large settlements as JANOW PODLIASKI, BORSUKI,
KONSTANTYNOW, MARIAMPOL, VORGULE, MANE, LUKOVISKO, WOJNOW and PRUSIN, as well as
the JANOW PODLIASKI, KONSTANTYNOW, MARIAMPOL and MORDY railroad stations. Our
forces completely mopped up an encircled enemy formation west of BREST. Most
German officers and men, who resisted our forces, were therefore killed. Over
15,000 German bodies were found on the battlefield. Surviving enemy units (more
than 2,000 officers and men) surrendered to our forces. According to preliminary
reports, our forces seized 32 tanks, 19 self-propelled guns, 112 artillery
pieces of various caliber, 133 mortars, 306 machine-guns, 4,000 vehicles, 50
tractors and prime-movers, 2,000 carts laden with military materiel and 8,000
horses.
Our forces continued to advance south-west of LVOV, seizing Drogobych-region
district centers KOMARNO and KRUKENICZ, as well as more than 70 other
settlements, among them such large settlements as MYSLYATICZY, ROGIZNO,
MISTKOVICZY, PYNYANY, KARNALOVICZY, KOLBAYEWICZY and KOLODRUBY, as well as the
KOMARNO BUCZA, RUDKI, CHLOPCZICY railroad stations.
Our forces seized a Stanislav-region district center DOLINA, as well as more
than 30 other settlements, including large settlements KRECHOWICE, NADZEOW,
RACZIN, BROCZKOW, WYGODA, MIZUN, STARY and PRSZCZENICZNYK, as well as the
KRECHOWICE, RACHIN and DOLINA railroad stations.
No major developments were reported elsewhere on the front.
Our forces disabled and destroyed 101 German tanks July 29 on all fronts. In
total, 20 German aircraft were downed in aerial combat and by anti-aircraft
guns.
