Our forces continued to advance west and south-west of PSKOV, seizing more than 80 settlements, including large settlements VISKI, RAAKVA, KOSELKA, ALASTSA, CHEREPANOVA, TURSHINO and NAUMOVA, as well as the KUDUPE, MALUPE and SITA railroad stations.
Our forces continued their successful advance north-west and west of
DAUGAVPILS (DVINSK), seizing more than 300 settlements, including such large
settlements as DUNAVA, BEBRENE, KALDABRUNA, LASU, EGLAINE, SEDERES, SAMANIAI,
ALEKSANDRAVELE, BRADESIAI, OBELIAI, RAGELIAI, VERISINAI and UVEINE, as well as
the EGLAINE, NOREIKIAI, OBELIAI and GINDVILIAI railroad stations.
Units of the 1st Baltic Front conducted a rapid tank-and-infantry attack July
31, seizing the JELGAVA (MITAVA) main transport junction that links the Baltics
with East Prussia.
Our forces continued to advance west and south-west of UKMERGE, seizing more
than 200 settlements, including large settlements of DOLNYE, BUBLI, SLIKI,
ZIGOVICI, PREISAGOLA, ZENIANY, LEPSISKI, PLEBANISKI, KALNICA, POKALINISKI,
GODLEVO and VEIVERY, as well as the LUKCIAI, MAVRUCE and PALEMONAS railroad
stations. Our forces stormed into KAUNAS, fighting enemy units there.
Troops of the 3rd Belarussian Front continued their successful advance,
seizing the Lithuanian SSR district center MARIAMPOL, the KOZLOVA-RUDA railroad
station, as well as more than 900 other settlements, including the large
settlements of PILVISKI, SURGUCE, SHUMSK, MIKHALIN, LUDVINOV, KRASNA, SHOSTAKOV,
OGARYNE, NERAVY and SEINY, as well as the JURE, BOGATA, PILVISKI, VINCI,
MARIAMPOL, KRASNA and SHOSTAKOV railroad stations.
Our forces continued to advance west and south-west of GRODNO, seizing more
than 100 settlements, including the large settlements of POBOROVA, KOPEC,
YAZEVO, STABIN, SUKHOVOLIA, KHODORUVKA, KORYTCIN, KRUKOVSZIZNA and MILEVSKE, as
well as the SAINO railroad station.
Troops of the 1st Belarussian front seized the major transport junctions and
powerful German strong points SEDLEC and MINSK MAZOWIECKI along the approaches
to WARSAW after intense fighting. They also seized more than 50 other
settlements, including such towns as RADZYMIN, Wolomin, OTWOCK and the large
settlements of SARNAKI, MORDY, GOLUBLJA, KSZESLIN and OPOLE, as well as the
BROSZKOW, DEMBE WELKE, RADZYMIN, WOLOMIN and OTWOCK railroad stations.
Our forces continued to advance south-west and south of PRZEMYSL, seizing
more than 60 settlements, including the large settlements of BRZUSKA, BIRCZA,
LOMNA, WIJSKO and NOWE MIASTO, as well as the GERMANOWICE and NIZANKOWICE
railroad stations.
No major developments were reported elsewhere on the front.
Our forces disabled and destroyed 81 German tanks July 30 on all fronts. In
total, 32 German aircraft were downed in aerial combat and by anti-aircraft
guns.
